What Altoona patients come to us for
Altoona has grown quickly over the past several years, and a lot of that growth has been commuters and young families. That tends to show up in the kinds of complaints we see most often. Many people come in with neck and upper back tension that builds up from long drives and long hours at a desk. Others are dealing with low back pain that flares after yard work, lifting, or a Chippewa Valley winter spent shoveling and slipping on the ice. We also see a steady stream of patients for neuropathy and nerve discomfort, which is an area we focus on heavily and one that a lot of general clinics do not. Headaches, migraines, and tension tied to posture are common too, and we care for children and offer prenatal chiropractic for growing families.
If your issue is not on this list, it is still worth a conversation. A good place to start is our overview of chiropractic care.
Why people make the short drive
There are plenty of chiropractors closer to the center of Altoona, so it is fair to ask why people make the short drive to us. A few reasons come up again and again.
Our method is gentle. The Torque Release Technique is precise and uses a small instrument rather than forceful twisting, which appeals to people who feel nervous about the usual cracking adjustments. We also pay real attention to nerve issues through our neuropathy program and spinal decompression, instead of offering a quick adjustment and sending you on your way. We are honest about cost. After your exam you get a clear estimate in plain language before you agree to anything, and we accept most insurance, including Medicare and BCBS. And your first visit is built to respect your time. It includes neurological scans and digital imaging so that we are working from real information about your spine rather than a guess.
Questions we hear from Altoona patients
Is it really worth driving from Altoona? For most of Altoona the trip is under ten minutes, and once you arrive there is no parking hassle. Patients often tell us the short, predictable drive is easier than fighting for a spot at a closer but busier office.
Do you take my insurance? We accept most major plans, including Medicare and BCBS. You can check our insurance and billing page, or simply call and we will verify your coverage before your first visit.
I have never been adjusted and the cracking scares me. Is this different? Yes, it is. The Torque Release Technique is gentle and uses an instrument, so there is no forceful twisting. It is one of the most common reasons people coming in for the first time choose us.
Can you see my whole family? We can. We provide care for children and offer prenatal chiropractic, so your family can come to one place.
